Queer Dance Performance and Facilitation Collective
Riiviöt is a Finnish word to call a rascal. It describes a young misbehaving rebel child or a mischievous animal; historically it was a Finnish name for a devilish creature.
For our collective, the term speaks of stirring up trouble in an existing system or structure, questioning norms of agency and autonomy in youth, and instigating change through playful action. We have identified our artistic collaboration with this mission.
Riiviöt works between Germany and Finland, and creates contemporary dance works for young and adult audiences.
