A Long Story About Our Baby

Project.tgthr (Eevi Kinnunen & Olivia Ronzani)

In “A Long Story About Our Baby”, Eevi Kinnunen and Olivia Ronzani embark on a journey of dreaming, exploring and understanding their queer family fantasies. They move through each other's minds, speak through each other's bodies and tell a love story that reaches towards a baby: empathetic, caring, raw and soft. They embody and deconstruct family representations to find one that feels like theirs. The dream of Eevi, Olivia and Baby falls in and out of love as they navigate fantasies, insecurities and expectations of family. Through dancing, storytelling and singing, a safe and brave playground opens up between them, an autofictional performance that explores and manifests queer love and family futures.

Eevi Kinnunen and Olivia Ronzani (dance & theatre artist/CH) met in 2020 and began to explore spontaneous performative encounters with dance, voice and physical theater.

They performed spontaneous, performative encounters in various off-spaces with and without an audience under the title “get-together”.They founded “Project.tgthr” as a platform for artistic collaboration with performative outputs and as an artistic companionship in order to have a continuous exchange about their personal and artistic perspectives in the independent scene.

“We treat drama in all its facets - authentic, fake, kitsch, desperate, serious, empowering, loving, ironic, as an entity that holds powers and tools for discovery, play and transformation. What is drama as a companion, drama as a teacher, a lover, a lifelong friend - drama as a performative quality, drama as content?”
